I’ve never quite understood why I’ve never seen any more information about change in numbers of people voting write-ins (or that voted in a given election (as a whole) but didn’t vote in a specific race). Even when I’ve felt like I couldn’t vote for either major candidate (whether local or national) in a particular election, I always go and vote under the (perhaps mistaken) hope that someone somewhere will notice that more people voted as a whole in that election than voted in the particular big race. It’s a matter of principle: I can’t in good conscience vote for the candidates, but I’m not going to stay home and look like an apathy vote.

  2. I understand elections in Nevada have “None of the Above”.
    These days, “None of the Above” would probably win most elections.
    (Sure would have helped in 2016…)
