  1. Despite his past personal problems, Tiger Woods has been an excellent example for aspiring young people. He also seems like an “all-around, nice guy.” I know of an older lady confined to a nursing home. She wrote Tiger a fan letter and several weeks later received an autographed photograph which she framed and proudly displayed.
He deserved the medal as much as the others who have received it.

    • I don’t have a problem with giving Tiger the award. Other golfers and athletes have received it. But I am surprised that you think Tiger is a role model for young people. Are you aware of his sexual promiscuity and serial adultery? (Oh, sorry, I forgot that you are Trump supporter). Tiger is a complicated figure.

      • John,
Please see my initial posting. It started with the words, “Despite his past personal problems…..”. I did not want to be more graphic than that. Tiger has sought help for these problems and I still believe in the old fashioned concept of forgiveness for the contrite. I think it’s also mentioned in a few places in the Bible.

      • Mother Teresa? Did she also win the award? If so, that is wonderful. I thought you had to be an American citizen to be eligible but maybe I was mistaken. Which president awarded it to her?
