  1. “Why do people hate Steven Pinker?”

    Why not? Just kidding. I don’t totally hate him. But his views at times can be irritatingly simplistic. It can feel like he starts with a conclusion and then looks for the evidence in support of it.

    My views on him are mixed, as are my writings in response. I have put out some positive posts on his work. It’s his most recent work that felt wrongheaded the more thought I gave to it. Even as I thought parts of it were excellent, other parts were dismissive to real world suffering.
