I always get a little jittery before the first meeting with my students each semester. I am told that this is a good thing and quite normal. (And I am sure I have said the same thing to others).
In about eight minutes (probably less by the time I continue typing this post) I am off to teach a course on Civil War America. I have not taught the Civil War in about eight years and I haven’t taught a three-hour night class since graduate school days, but something tells me that this semester may have more relevance than most. 🙂
