"Do the Math": The Movie

Environmentalist Bill McKibben‘s movie Do the Math will be released on April 21 and he wants people to “join the movement” by hosting local screenings at their schools, colleges, and in their living rooms.  It is described as a “42-minute film about the rising movement to change the terrifying math of the climate crisis and challenge the fossil fuel industry.” Learn more about the “Do the Math” movement here or watch the trailer below.  I am glad to see that Richard Cizik, one of the evangelical champions of “Creation Care,” appears in this movie.

  1. Oh, for the days of my youth in the 70s when the cry was “new ice age coming!!”

“Can we do these things? Yes. But will that make things better? I'm not sure. We can't predict with any certainty what's happening to our own climatic future. How can we come along and intervene then in that ignorance. You could melt the ice caps. What would that do to the coastal cities? The cure could be worse than the disease. Would that be better or worse than the risk of an ice age.” – Dr. Steven Schneider, 1978, on the show “In Search Of”, before he started selling global warming
