A New Take on Old Campaign Songs

Jeffrey Pasley called my attention to these campaign songs from the Early Republic done in contemporary arrangements.  They were created by Bill Reynolds, an award-winning  middle school history teacher from California.  Reynolds is producing an album of eight remakes of campaign songs from the First and Second Party System.  I encourage you to poke around his website and listen to modern rock versions of “On to Victory,” “Yankee Doodle” and others.  You may also want to buy a copy of his single, “The National Debt.”
