This may be old news, but I just heard about it today.  Randall Balmer, a scholar of American religion known for his work on evangelicals, has left Columbia University for Dartmouth College.  Balmer is now the Mandel Family Professor of Arts & Sciences and chair of the Religion Department at Dartmouth.
